Via Twitter, The Birthday Massacre have announced a preview of their new song "Burn Away". The sample is currently available on MySpace. The full song will be released this August on the upcoming "Imaginary Monsters" EP.

Following up on the success of the most recent album Pins And Needles, The Birthday Massacre returns with Imaginary Monsters, a new EP consisting of three all new songs and five remixes. The three new songs, "Forever", "Burn Away", and "Left Behind" find the band at its creative apex. Dark, personal, and atmospheric, The Birthday Massacre builds on its compelling blend of gothic, rock and electronic music into a sound that is all their own. To give the fans another perspective on the aforementioned sound, The Birthday Massacre has had five colleagues offer their unique perspectives on tracks from Pins And Needles. SKOLD, Combichrist, tweaker, Assemblage 23, and Kevvy Mental & Dave Ogilvie add their own spin to TBM's distinctive style. As a bonus, the EP also features the video for "In The Dark"!

Hi message boardians!

The Birthday Massacre has been given a pile of festival tickets to give to the fans who helped put them in Virgin Mobile's Freefest. The band thanks everyone who voted for us and now... they would love to put these tickets into the hands of some of those hardcore fans ... fans that can actually go see the show!

There's only 9 days before the festival, so we have limited options on how we get tickets to the lucky winners. We have a list of everyone who entered an email address while voting.

Here's what we're going to do:

We are going to be contacting the people on the email list (starting this eve)...Some top voters, some hardcore fans, ...and a few random email addresses just for fun...and offering you each a ticket for yourself and one friend. Most tickets will go out this way.

ALSO: we are setting aside a small block of tickets for our fans on VamipreFreaks.com. We are going to run a quick little contest there for a few tickets, and ALSO another small block for some fans on our official online forum !! THAT'S YOU GUYS!
