So now that the tour with MSI is over, we will be sending out some final thoughts from the band about the tour..... stay tuned. In the meantime, here are some bits and pieces.

We want to thank MSI for the chance to work with them.... it was a great opportunity to get in front of lots of people and , it was never boring!

We have changed the top of our page and put up a pictture taken by Max Michaels for Movement Magazine... if you haven't checked them out yet... take a look! The picture was taken in Florida during the tour.

The band is going to rest a bit and then get into writing the next album. The sales on our CD's have been picking up as people discover us and we really appreciate those of you who are buying in the store or, online. The numbers really give us a bit more clout to do some things we want to as far as taking our time to record. If you haven't filled out your catalog yet, think about it over the next few months.

But then.... save some Christmas money for.... are you ready for it..... The Birthday Massacre Live in Hamburg Walking With Strangers DVD in 5.1. Our European Record Company Repo is really hot on this and for them it is a labor of love. They are not only going to have a 70 minute live show of our WWS Tour, but they are adding some bonus video from our two previous European summer tours.... festival appearances. Finally, there will be some interviews with the band so that you can get to know them a bit better. We are hoping to get it out by the beginning of our next tour, around November 1st. Metropolis will be distributing the DVD in the rest of the world outside of Europe.

We have lots to do in the next few months and it is because of your support that we can do these things and concentrate on our music. Thanks to all of the people who came out to see us and thanks to all of you for your belief and support for The Birthday Massacre.

Hello again,

I know we've been hitting everyone up for help in the last couple of days... and it's not really our style to do so...but the payoff might be worth it. Show MTV what you want.

As you may have read on our myspace, facebook, ilike, itunes, etc., we are attempting to win a rotation position on mtvU. It's going well, and lots of people have been voting (thanks!)..... however: we are constantly going back and forth between the #1 and #2 spot. We are turning to you guys for a final push before tomorrow morning (Noon EST).

If time runs out while we're not quite in the #1 spot, then that's cool...the masses have spoken (for now) and everyone who voted gets a huge "thanks!" from us. ...... However..... there is still time and you can make a difference.

Go vote! Show MTV what it is you would like to hear. Now is the perfect opportunity for your voice to be heard.

The Birthday Massacre will be releasing a new ep in May, the sixth I believe..
The Looking Glass ep features the single 'Looking Glass' from Walking with Strangers as well as remixes of 'Falling Down', 'Red Stars', and 'Weekend'. But there's also some new fun as well. The album also has a cover of 'I think we're alone now', and two new songs, 'Shiver' and 'Nowhere'.
But wait.. there's more.. they're also including the video for 'Looking Glass'.

Hello.

I have a question for everyone. It's not about anything fun, it's about web traffic and business crap. ;) feel free to post honest opinions. Even if you think I'm not going to like it ;) I have thought about every side to this... but i want to know what you guys think.

YouTube has been a bit of a free-for-all when it comes to TBM vids. People post/host anything of ours they want. 99% of the time, it's cool and we are grateful people care enough to post things we've done, or video they have shot of us!!! I have recently wondered if the band could be better served if we prevented people from posting our professionally shot vids.

By "prevent" i mean nicely asking people to remove a vid, not reporting a channel/vid and getting people suspended. no one likes that. By "professionally shot" I'm not refering to fan shot vids, AMVs, video game music vids, or the like. I am refering to vids someone paid to have made.

My reasoning? I am wondering if the band could be better served by being the sole hosts of these vids and therefore... gain the benifits of increased traffic to our official sources. When people search for "blue" I think it would help the band...if our page actually came up in the results. We hadn't bothered to put blue on youtube (fixed soon)... cause others had.

So will I be causing more harm than it's worth? The more I think about it, the more I think I might give it a try. We could use the traffic.

Kristi from TBM Fans Myspace already posted some pics of the shoot. Mostly pics of the extras hanging out with the band. She promised to share some more as soon as she's able, she just can't release those before the video is out.
She also posted some bulletins saying the video will be amazing, and i definitely believe her hehe

I was wondering what everybody's favorite song off Walking With Strangers is?

I'm going to have to go with Red Stars. I love the mix of soft and heavy (same with Blue off Violet - love it!).

Even though several sites link to violetprison.com as the official discussion board for The Birthday Massacre, that is no longer the case. At one time it was the official board, but several months ago it went offline and I have no idea why. If you have any info on what happened to the old board, please fill us in!

I grabbed a list of upcoming shows from TBM's MySpace page. They have all been added to the Violet Prison calendar.
